It’s not easy to find an ethical, natural makeup option that truly is the quality it promises to be. This is a story of a mother who doesn’t normally wear any makeup taking a few moments each morning to prioritise a bit of self-care and boosting her confidence to face the world.
What’s so special about it?
The main issue I’ve had with wearing makeup in the past is that it has felt heavy or smothering on the skin. One of the beautiful things about this range is that it looks and feels so light and allows the skin to breathe.
All Ere Perez products are made from botanical ingredients which are vegan, cruelty-free, and non-GMO. The company is a signatory to the UN Global Compact (ensuring a commitment to corporate sustainability, human rights, environment and anti-corruption) and is certified carbon neutral by the Carbon Reduction Institute.
It’s well worth a mention that I heard on their Instagram account that some of the blush and eye shadow compacts are refillable, which allows you to purchase refill powders without having to discard then purchase a whole plastic housing. This allows you to use those compacts again and again which is a brilliant and rare thing.
The colour I tried on cheeks and lips is the carrot pot in ‘healthy’ and it had a lovely smooth application and subtle colour once blended. You don’t need much of it at all.
I also used a rice powder blush and bronzer duo to give some depth around the face without having to use bright colours all over. It helps absorb oil (good for the T-zone) and leaves a velvety finish. It’s enriched with vitamin E and chamomile, so again healing for the skin while you wear it.
Each of the products has a featured natural ingredient. The powder foundation uses natural calendula to promote healing and skin health while you wear it. Great for sensitive skin, it’s very light and soft. The ‘eco vegan kabuki’ brush is recommended to apply the powder. It’s available in three shades and I used the lightest.
Why do they work?
These products are made from natural ingredients that have been carefully chosen for their benefits to the skin but also for their nourishing and healing properties. With versatile colour palettes and shades to choose from I don’t have to compromise seamless style for the feel or overall health of my delicate (and ageing) facial skin.
Using them gives me the confidence to face the camera for videos, or video calls, without feeling like I’m compromising my longterm skin fitness by slathering on layers of less nourishing makeup. I love that I can do a subtle, pigment-evening and non-garish look really easily.
